Summary

  • Organize potential candidates for openings based on loyalty, quality, and value to Medical Solutions.
  • Assist Operations Team and Career Consultants in accessing, organizing, and sending pre-employment paperwork from placed Travelers to Client facilities.
  • Ongoing follow up with current facilities prior to, during, and after Travelers’ assignments.
  • Work with Operations Team and Career Consultants to help resolve any personal or professional issues with Travelers.
  • This position involves independent negotiations with hospitals regarding bill rates and independent judgment regarding the Traveler qualification process.
  • This position is largely based on independent judgment as Business Development Executives are viewed as a single point of contact for our hospital Clients.
  • The scope of responsibility for this position is supervisory in nature not clinical in nature.

Job Description:

The purpose of the Career Consultant role is to create and maintain positive relationships with healthcare travelers in order to enhance patient care through supplemental staffing.  This is a sales position and is considered “exempt”. If overtime hours are worked, there is not additional pay for overtime.

Essential Functions:

  • Contact and negotiate all aspects of current travel assignments with potential Nursing and Allied Health Professionals for current job posting(s)
  • Work daily with Client Managers to match and present qualified health care professionals for placement in our current job openings
  • Assist Operations staff in accessing, organizing and receiving pre-employment paperwork from placed travelers
  • Ongoing weekly follow up with current travelers prior to, during, and after assignment
  • Work with Operations and Client Manager to help resolve any issues with travelers (personal or professional)
  • Through referrals, lead sources, and cold contacts develop an ongoing strong network of traveling Health Professionals
  • This position scope of responsibility is supervisory in nature, not clinical in nature.
  • This position is viewed as a single point of contact for our travelers.
  • This position relies on independent judgment. Most situations include the negotiation of pay packages with our travelers and the traveler qualification process.
